The challenge:

A construction company in Orangeville, Ontario with an equipment and space restriction asked Vandergeest Inc. to come up with a solution to meet the current market production demands. Vandergeest developed the concept from engineering, to design, fabrication, installation and commissioning of the following equipment:



Equipment supplied:

· Three fabricated steel feed hoppers, each with a capacity of 39 tons.

· Three complete 24” wide belt feeders to handle 300 TPH of aggregate.

· A 30” wide and 50 feet long collecting conveyor, a 30” wide and 120 feet long feed conveyor, and a 30” wide 63 feet long belt transfer conveyor, each able to handle 300 TPH with conveyor supports.

· A steel three compartment aggregate storage bin, having a capacity of 15 tons in one end and 45 tons in the other two compartments, complete with feed chute to direct aggregate into the separate compartments.

· A fabricated steel aggregate weigh hopper with a capacity of 9 cu. Meters, complete with load cells and discharge gates.

· Two fabricated steel cement storage silos, with a 60/40 split, each complete with structure, dust collectors, weigh batcher and discharge gates, having a total capacity of 100 tons.



Conclusion:

The construction was complete, on-time, at its new location with upgrades and increased capacities, meeting the customer’s requirements. The above system components were all delivered, installed and erected by Vandergeest Inc. including; supports, structures, platforms and access ladders.
